中国地震死亡人数上升至7600人

The official Xinhua News Agency quoted the Sichuan provincial government as saying 7,651 people died across the province, but the situation in at least two counties remain unclear.

据新华社报道，四川省政府统计，全省共有7651人死于地震，但是目前仍有两县伤情不明，

In Beichuan county, just east of the epicenter, up to 5,000 people were killed and 80 per cent of buildings collapsed, Xinhua said. Another 10,000 people were injured.

地震已经造成位于震源东部的北川县5000人死亡，百分之八十的楼房坍塌。另有10000人受伤。

The death toll is expected to jump as contact is made with regions cut off by the disaster.

由于灾区通信中断，死亡人数有可能继续攀升。
